My children aged 11, 4 and 3 are crazy about this book! Whatever the family members say to Rosie, Rosie "repeats" later in a very funny way ("Evil, wicked, deadbeat squirrel! Hi, I'm Rosie!") My three year old laughs all throughout and my four year old and eleven year old ask repeatedly to have it read to them. Once it was while my 79 yr. old mother was visiting and she laughed at it as well. I've pointed this book out to a lot of people at the library but we own ours - as I said, it's a repeat favorite here.

I lend this book to my grown-up friends and can't get it back! Most of my friends have terriers and boy, is Rosie one. I can't think about the line about the "deadbeat spoon" without having a laughing fit. The doggie description of the cereal and milk, and Jane Fonda's voice, there are just too many dog lines in this tiny book to name my favorite. The illustrator just hit the nail on the head, too. I would recommend this to your silly dog friends, hands down.
