It has at least 300 color photographs and gives an introduction into the history of wine before going on to the regions in which the world's wine is produced. The Red Wine Companion is fantastic for those seeking to a little culture by learning about wine. After reading this book, you are well prepared to pick out a modest priced Pinot Noir, or a expensive Bordeaux, for even the best vintage of each wine is made clear in the book.
