In the new testament there are many quotes from books like Genesis, Psalms and Isaiah those were the three big old testament that are quoted the most in the new testament and for good reason. The subject matter and the length of the book make them being quoted a lot by new testament authors.
What you may not know is that the book of Zachariah is quoted about forty times in the new testament why? Because it is obviously messianic and the new testament knew that, and much of the quotation that deals with the messiah the second coming are found in the book of Zachariah.
If you want to read the old testament from cover to cover and I assume some of you have done that you will discover that there is not just one person named Zachariah, there are how many? guess thirty different Zachariah's. This is one of them, and this is the most notable one of them.
