Written by children's author, V. Gelbert Beers and his daughters, The Preschoolers Family Story Book teaches important values through real-life family situations. This description may be from another edition of this product.
If you are looking for a book to break down God's plan of salvation for your children, buy a Bible. If you are seeking a way to present Christian values to young children and open avenues of conversation regarding God-pleasing behaviors and lives filled with Christian kindness, this book will do just that. Each chapter opens with a situation typical in a child's life, regarding issues such as sharing, selfishness, wisdom, and friendship. A wise adult guides each child, without lecturing, to an understanding of how to behave in a manner pleasing to God. Each chapter ends with a list of simple questions that your child as young as three should be able to answer. My seven-year-old opened our school days by reading a chapter a day to her three younger sisters (1, 3, 5), and then discussing the questions at the end of each chapter. All age groups benefitted from the readings, including Mommy who can always use a refresher! With only twenty short chapters, and some of them presenting poems instead of stories, this book will not take long to read. We would have actually appreciated more chapters, but for a preschool aged group, the few words per page and large, bold pictures are quite suitable. If your children have a strong awareness of the Gospel and WHY they should be exhibiting Christan values in their lives, then this is a wonderful next step to show HOW to exhibit those traits.
