I honestly expected it to be better.

I listened to Glen Tates podcast until he and his wife started saying some things that just lead to hate and continuing disagreements between the left and right. I still wanted to read his book though as a way to become a better prepper so I bought bought first 3 from this site. It's painful to read. I'm a pretty avid reader and LOVE dooms day movies etc, but all the lead up about the main character doesn't give descriptions that play to the imagination. It's written as fact "Grant did this. Grant believed this. Grant loved his grandpa and guns are cool." Perhaps it will get better past chapter 4? Maybe I'll give it to my nephew? I hate writing poor reviews for things and truly enjoyed their podcast until the elections took place and the "blue is gonna come after you red, they hate you" - it's just hate and fear mongering that doesn't need to happen. And I can see some of that in this book... unfortunately. I guess it would be a super easy read for a lot of people... but keep your mind open and compassion for others forefront...
