Won't Fit in Your Pocket but an Interesting Little Book of Facts
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 17 years ago
This book has quite a few interesting facts on a wide range of subjects that you can slip into conversation at your next dinner party or to use to write some trivia questions for your next fundraiser. I've read a lot of these types of books and this one is easily in the top of that group. The only down point is that the book talks to you implying you are an American, which would be fine if you are but is a bit of an insult to the rest of us seeing as this book is published and sold in stores around the world. Editing the internationally released version would have been nice. Presented alphabetically there are no chapters but instead like an encyclopaedia layout each topic has a heading a fair few facts and then we move onto the next topic. This means you're more likely to enjoy this book as a put down and pick up again type read rather than a cover to cover reading experience. Some interesting facts from within this interesting little book include - Apples contain less protein than any other fruit Jed Clampett of the Beverly Hillbillies only had a $25 million dollar fortune (not much by today's American rich people standards). Chocolate syrup was used for the blood in Psycho The twelve most frequently used letters in the English language in order are E, T, A, O, I N, S, H, R, D, L and U (one to remember if you ever go on Wheel of Fortune) Cats cannot survive on dog food as they require five times as much protein as dogs The only difference between a fiddle and violin is the music played on it. Hundreds of interesting facts within this very interesting little book.
