Criticizes judgmentalism and reliance on personal piety

The book is prophetic. The book reminds us that the Pharisees were the focus of greatest criticism of Jesus. It points out how these "religious commandos," who knew and followed every religious rite and rule, pinned their salvation and status on their own works--and continually and harshly judged others when they didn't follow in their footsteps. This book would be a good developmental book for "religious, judgmental" types. I loved this book!
A milestone book! Tells how & why GOOD PEOPLE don't get it.

This is one of the finest books that I've read in verbalizing why the Pharisees of old got sucked into the morass of Salvation though their own (good) works. This book, written by a contemporary theologian, clearly describes how the Pharisees got off track and how we as Christians today may fall into the same rut. This is a "must read" for Christians of all faiths who truly wish to understand the concept of God's Grace! Buy it! Read it! Absorb it!
