Here is a terrific book for anyone who wants a puppy. Our hero is desperate for a dog of his own. He has dog T-shirts, posters, books, and even a barking clock! But he has to wait until next year when he's ten before he can have a real dog. That gives him lots of time to meet all kinds of dogs and puppies. Next door is Duke, a German shepherd who brings in the groceries; then there's Patsy, a big Newfie who loves to swim! And a little Jack Russell named Tidbit with boundless energy. With so many breeds, how will he ever decide which one is best for him? After visits to the dog show and the dog park, and to see newborn puppies, our friend really gets a feeling for each breed and so will readers. And if you want to know what kind of dog he ends up with, you'll just have to wait and see. That's a surprise!
GREAT ART WORK: and busy pictures to keep your kid occupied

I love the art work by these authors! If they make posters, I would buy them. Not everyone knows how to draw a dog with great understanding and a modern sensibility. Each page has lots and lots of action, stuff is happening, and the kids look and look to figure out what is happening to whom. Kind of like Richard Scarry, but with dogs only.
Great book

The story is really cute, and the artwork is fun. The pages seem like a lot is going on, but it makes it very interesting to read it all. It's captivating for a child. I was so surprised when I read this book because it could have been written about our family!!! We, or mostly, I, did so much research on the best breed for our family considering we have two younger boys. Finally, I discovered, The Labradoodle. Their personalities and owner opinions of them sold me, not to mention they were the cutest dogs we saw. We ended up getting one, and she's the best!!! To find a story about this was really neat.
Not quite sure what the review from Kelly H. was all about

but this was a great book. I'm pretty sure no one wants or appreciates your OPINION. This isn't the place for your comments.
Inappropriate review...

Does Kelly H just miss the point of the book or does she have an agenda? It's a story of finding the perfect PUPPY, not the perfect purebred!! Where is it written a mixed breed can't be perfect for a child? Her review was not a review, but an opinion. The book is enjoyable reading and a cute story. Is she reviewing the book or labradoodles?
Kelly H. is wrong in putting down a breed no matter what it

is! This is not the place for comments about a breed! The book was about finding the perfect puppy, whether it be mixed or a purebred!
