Each subject is introduced by a lively couplet, and, for the budding herpetologist, there are carefully labeled scientific drawings. From the pugly-ugly Two-toed Amphiuma, slithering in a drainage ditch, and the tiny Oak Toad, sitting on the river bank, to warty toads and scaly lizards, children of all ages will learn the secrets and habits of some of nature's small water, land, and desert creatures.A perfect companion book to the authors' Bugs. Glossaries, range maps, and bibliography and index are included.
