The Aldens are sight-seeing in New York City. But before the end of their very first day in the city someone steals the priceless Elizabeth Star Diamond from their friend Mr. Pound--and the Boxcar Children spring into mystery-solving action. They track clues through New York City's Central Park, down busy streets, and into glittering jewelry stores only to find that they have too many suspects Can they figure out which one is the thief?
This was a great book like all the other boxcar children books. I started to bite my nails reading when I was halfway through. It kept me up all night long. A+!
Excellent book with an unexpected plot!

Probably the best Boxcar Children book I have read! When theAldens travel to New York City they befriend wealthy Mr. Pound. Heshows them his enormous and expensive diamond, the Elizabeth Star. But no sooner do they see it, it disappears into thin air. Follow them around as they chase their suspects through New York.
