This book holds the Mier Padrones 1796 to 1806 of the Parroquia of Ciudad Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico currently under the Diocesis of Matamoros Tamaulipas, Mexico. It is also the transcription of the digital images that you can find at FamilySearch.org under microfilm 1511692. The images transcribed in this book start on page 441 of this film and ends on page 541. These images were originally photographed by R. Jimenes and A. Sanchez back in August 13, 1987 under a project by the Sociedad de Genealogia en Mexico. I thought that it would only be proper to list the priests that originally compiled and wrote these Padrones and that we are so fortunate to have and enjoy their hard work in these present times. 1796 - Fr. Francisco Davalos Palomera (No Signature) 1797 - Fr. Francisco Davalos Palomera (No Signature) 1798 - Fr. Francisco Davalos Palomera (No Signature) 1799 - Fr. Francisco Davalos Palomera 1800 - Fr. Francisco Davalos Palomera 1801 - Fr. Antonio del Alamo 1802 - Fr. Antonio del Alamo 1803 - Fr. Antonio del Alamo 1804 - Fr. Antonio del Alamo 1805 - Fr. Antonio del Alamo 1806 - Fr. Antonio del Alamo As you can see 1796, 1797, and 1798 were not signed by the priest. I can only make an educated guess that it was Fr. Francisco Davalos Palomera since the way fama (abbrebiated for Family) is written on the 1799 and 1800 Padrones. Also the P for Padron at the begining of 1797 and 1798 is the same as in the 1799 and 1800 Padrones. The reason for starting this project at We Are Cousins was that we needed a way to make these Padrones more accessible to the general public specially those of us whose ancestors are mentioned within the pages of this book. Not to mention, it also provides an easier way for anyone to browse and find information on them. Special thanks go to all the members of the We Are Cousins community. Especially to Blanca Rosales, Cathy Gutierrez Barraza, Chris Lozano Martinez, Clementina Pederson, and Larissa LeBovidge, without them this book would have never been published. In the following pages you will read more about some of them. On a final note, each page has a short link on the top of each page. If you click on it on the digital version of this book it will take you straight to that page on familysearch.org. If you are using a printed copy of this book you will have to type this short link into your browser to be taken to the original page at familysearch.org.
