This is one of the best books on massage I've seen. Features I like are: The book is hardcover, but inside the spine is a spiral binding, thoughtfully provided by the publisher so the book lies flat while you're trying to do your massage. Highly illustrated with color photographs throughout, the book lays out a step-by-step approach. The basic strokes are introduced and then applied to each area of the body. You begin by learning a neck and shoulders routine on a fully clothed person, progressing in separate lessons to main areas, such as the legs, back and buttocks, and later to the head and feet. By the time you have completed the course, carrying out a complete head to toe massage will be no problem. Color diagrams at the start of each lesson show the muscles to be worked on. Suggestions for dealing with common ailments through massage and aromatherapy are also given throughout the book. There is a section explaining how to do a self-massage. The book is copyright 1992, size 9"x 11.5", 160 pages plus index. Authored by the founder and director of the London College of Massage.
