Excellent Compilation of Statistics and Notable Cases
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 19 years ago
An excellent book for true crime fanatics, others interested in notable criminal cases, or people who enjoy reading statistics and compounding encyclopedic knowledge about morbid things. "The Man Who Shorted out the Electric Chair" contains information about famous murders (some sections are classified by types of murders), short but informative blurbs about famous serial killers (with their respective body counts), and even a section for Pop-Crime (Dirty Harry Quotes). This book makes an interesting read for those interested (albeit superficially) in the topic of crime.
the best single book on the subject I've ever bought

I'm interested in crime but all the books I've bought before are kinda nerdy - you know the sort of thing I mean. Anyway, this book is different: it's comprehensive and there are some laughs too. The only criticism I would make is that there are too many British references for an American audience - but you can't have everything. All in all, I really enjoyed this book. Steve Hunte
