Steve is lost to misery, memories and bottles of rum. His wife, Cathy, had an affair and has moved in with the man in question, a man whose name Steve cannot bring himself to say. Now she appears to have met a bloody end and all the evidence points to the man she broke her vows for. Steve's hopes of rekindling their relationship look to be over, but things are not as they seem.

Written under the influence of The Cure's 1989 album Disintegration, this grizzly depiction of consuming melancholy is inescapable.

Though a stand-alone story, The Liquid Room is also the third in a series of short horror novels created to specific music. Called the Melodies of Madness Series, it also includes The Darkness Inside, Into the Depths, Spontaneous Combustion and The Watcher. Each is available in Kindle and paperback formats and all five have been published in an anthology entitled Melodies of Madness.
