Read this sweet New York Times bestselling series from the author of If You Give a Pig a Pancake, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, If You Give a Mouse a Brownie , and other beloved books. The Jellybeans are back--this time in the library stacks to discover the varied and wonderful world of reading. When the Jellybeans go to the library to do research for book reports on the things they enjoy, Bitsy, who loves books more than anyone, is excited to bring her friends to her favorite place. Emily, who loves to dance, finds a book on ballet, Nicole, who loves sports, finds a book on soccer, and Anna, who loves art, finds a book on famous painters. But what about Bitsy? Can she find the perfect book, too? This energizing book promotes a love of reading by proving that there is the perfect book for everyone. Just as jellybeans are all different flavors but go great together, the girls again use their different strengths and talents to work as a team and make their school Book Bonanza a success. My kids love these Jellybean books! One of the things that seems to appeal to them the most is the difference in the characters and how that's a good thing (rather than bad, which is how children normally see differences). They both identify with different characters and like it that way. They actually sit down and read the books together - going back and forth between the "Big Dance" and the "Big Book Bonanza" stories. They both also LOVE the artwork - including all the jellybeans on the cover that are embossed and glittery.
Sooo Cute!

A Big Book Bonanza is RIGHT

Nate Evans and co-author Laura Numeroff have done it for the second time! "The Jellybeans and the Big Book Bonanza," with, again, Lynn Munsinger's sensitive and charming illustrations. If you've read the first one, "The Jellybeans and the Big Dance," you'll find this one equally delightful. This time, they're heading for the library! Their teacher has assigned the class homework: go to the library; read a book on a well-loved subject; then, write a book report. Anna, the reading Jellybean, is so excited to have her friends, slightly dubious, with her when they visit the library. They meet Ms. Beasley-Buzzer, the friendly and helpful Librarian. Ms. B-B quickly takes each Jellybean in hand and, Emily, Bitsy and Nicole, surprised, immediately find books to their liking. Anna, the avid reader, however, has difficulty. Again, Ms. B-B comes to the rescue and Anna also finds just the right book. I won't give any more of this delightful plot away, but back in the classroom, Anna does meet an unexpected challenge and, of course, the other Jellybeans help her to solve it. I have read this book now to a number of young and restless children, and they have all asked me to read it again. Enough said!
