Amanda Carrington panics one morning when she can't find her four-year-old son playing in their fenced backyard. She calls her husband at his place of business, a thriving financial firm, who tells her to contact the local authorities. When the La Jolla police arrive, they canvass the neighborhood, issue an amber alert, and deploy a canine unit in the search. The detective in charge, Sgt. Vicki Whitehead, asks the FBI for assistance and Agent Gabby Girard is assigned to help in the hunt for young Henry, who is now thought to be kidnaped. As sightings of the tousle-haired youngster trickle in, each one is investigated. One after another they are examined, but none are the missing four-year-old, Henry. Agent Girard and Detective Whitehead scour the purported sightings again and look in every possible place the child could be hiding at the Carrington home. Hope turns to despair when they discover the boy's body buried deep in a chest freezer in the Carrington garage. When Mr. Carrington is arrested, he claims he didn't do it-someone is framing him. A polygraph test shows, his claim to be true, but who is the real culprit.
