Not a Teaspoon of Phony Sentiment

Here are the real Ozark folk, clan-like, eccentric, strong in adversity and with a delicious sense of humor. America's hill people are a treasure we will only really miss when they are gone. The writing is lean and funny and just plain GOOD. It is the author's family and childhood - some characters such as his grandfather achieving near-mythic stature. Good fun.
