A Christmas killer has been icing Phylis Newsom's friends in the sixth Fresh-Baked mystery. Not only will Phyllis Newsom's house be featured in the annual Christmas Jingle Bell Tour of Homes, she also has a Christmas Eve bridal shower and a New Year's Eve wedding to bake goodies for. But like her tasty treats, she rises to the occasion. Before the tour gets under way, Phyllis makes a gruesome discovery on her porch: someone has tried to kill her friend. As Santa's naughty list gets longer, Phyllis tries to catch a half-baked killer.
I caught up on 3 of my tried and true book series so I was shopping around for a new great series to start on. I found this one and thought it was quirky that the author lives in my town and was mentioning all of the towns in the area. Well, it turns out that is a huge annoyance. The Texas Speak is at best, exaggerated and over the top. Yes, I'm native Texas. So I'm not enjoying it but I decide that maybe if I just push through and get to the kill off, it will pick up and who knows, I'll love it by the end. Page 36, she insults homeschool parents. Done! I am one of those parents. I hope I don't run into her at Walmart.
The Fresh Baked Mysteries Series is a delightful set of books. Especially if you are a Texas born
