This is an excellent source for people who wanted to do his/her or others searching for people in North America. It lists over 25,000 sources, classified in different categories. It lists elusive phone numbers with latest area code not normally published. There are also fax and telephone numbers listed allowing one to get hold of some officer at historical society, cemetery, museum etc. While some of the databases have gone online through the Internet I sensed the competing commercial sites promise more than what they deliver. Therefore a need for a written reference source is desirable. For a county it even tries to break down by township, village etc. The author went into great effort to obtain ethnic historical society in each city, or area. For example, if you wish to trace your ancestor who is of Jewish origin who came from Louisville, KY you can contact a professional librarian who can assist you to search for someone. If someone is adopted he/she can also get hold the registry agency names. All in all, this is an excellent source for those who wish to do his/her research. This book is highly recommended.
