With all the hallmarks that made the New York Times best-selling Artemis Fowl series so popular, this hilarious spinoff adventure stars Artemis' younger brothers, along with a nefarious nobleman, a shadowy nun, and a fairy intern, and a maverick troll. One week after their eleventh birthday, the Fowl twins--scientist Myles, and Beckett, the force of nature--are left in the care of house security (NANNI) for a single night. In that time they befriend a troll who has clawed his way through the earth's crust to the surface. Unfortunately for the troll, he is being chased by a nefarious nobleman and an interrogating nun, who both need the magical creature for their own gain, as well as a fairy-in-training who has been assigned to protect him. The boys and their new troll best friend escape and go on the run. Along the way they get shot at, kidnapped, buried, arrested, threatened, killed (temporarily), and discover that the strongest bond in the world is not the one forged by covalent electrons in adjacent atoms, but the one that exists between a pair of twins. Criminal genius runs in the family...
Myles and Beckett are eleven-year-old twins, but the two boys are wildly different. Beckett is blonde, messy and sulks whenever he has to wear clothes. Myles is fanatically neat, he has an IQ of 170, and he wears a fresh suit every day like his older brother, Artemis Fowl.
Perhaps you have heard of the Fowl family and their adventures?
This Fowl adventure is filled with the most unusual of individuals: an immortal duke, a miniature troll, a nunterrogator and a Police Specialist that's 42% elf. And of course, the Fowl twins - one a certified genius with a criminal leaning, and the other possessing an unusual talent that has not been fully explored... yet!
Here begins the second documented cycle of Fowl Adventures.
How could you not be intrigued by that?!

The Fowl Twins, written by Eoin Colfer, is a story packed full with magic and mischief. Two twin boys, Myles and Beckett couldn’t be more different, but the bond between them is unbreakable. Before I started reading this story, I was a bit skeptical, but now it is one of my favorites, even as a young adult. Any fan of Artemis Fowl will enjoy this book, but it is easy to understand even without the background of the series. As I read of the clever troll and his fairy-in-training escaping to the earth’s surface, I knew that many hijinks would ensue. I could imagine all the adventures the twins and their new-found friends would go on even before I read them and when I did, they surpassed all my imagination. While geared towards the younger/middle aged children, this book is enjoyable for all ages. Definitely a must read!
Just as much fun as Artemis Fowl!

I was lucky to get an ARC of this exciting spin off of the Artemis Fowl books!
The Fowl Twins are just as much fun as their older brother, Artemis Fowl and I enjoyed following along with them on their adventures that began with a simple mistake of thinking that a toy troll was just that, a toy (that Beckett thought looked like Angry Hamster).
Their story is a bit different from Artemis' because Myles and Beckett are not criminals but they still get into just as much excitement! I found myself liking Myles a bit more at first because he is similar to Artemis in thought processes and such and Beckett just seemed a bit off the wall and dim which was off putting. Luckily that changed when Beckett shows that he has hidden depths and so I was able to enjoy the story and cheer them along with Lazuli as they try to keep Whistleblower out of the hands of a hunter and a nun.
