Construction of Old Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Middleton, Nova Scotia began in 1789. It was the first place of worship and first of three Anglican churches in the area. In 1998 it was recognized as a provincial heritage site and is the oldest substantially unaltered church built by United Empire Loyalists who settled in Canada after the American Revolution. This book traces the history of this special building and considers the people who were involved in construction and the community. It includes information about Black Loyalists and African Nova Scotians.
