A great read for even non-mathematicians

This is a fascinating book for anyone with an interest in mathematical issues and their links to radical, theoretical Christian concepts. The author is an excellent writer with a far reaching and well deserved reputation. He has not let us down again.

Engaging and fascinating

Fascinating and engaging - I always wanted to get back to it after putting it down! I felt like I was sitting at the feet of someone who has gone before me and was listening to some great stories about his life and finding faith! He makes it easy to read about issues dealing with faith, doubt, and paradox in the context of mathematics. Much of it is written more like a story. I can see why he was a successful writer of math books! I learned in reading the book, not just practically about mathematics, but about life, faith, and God. I have often engaged in dialogue and reading about paradox in faith, particularly in Christian faith, and this book deals with it in a way that was easy to read, refreshing, and new - and it included a perspective of mathematics. It was a smooth and easy read, even for someone who last took college algebra over 13 years ago! It's a keeper on my shelf, to refer back to, and to give away!

Intriguing!

I am privileged to write a review of this book. It was similar to reading a mystery novel in that I didn't want to put it down, wondering where the author was going next. I experienced this, particularly with the material related to paradox. I deeply appreciated how much the author encouraged the embracing of paradox yet gave such solid answers as to how many of the paradoxes of faith can be resolved. And, while i am sure there is plenty of mathematics in this book to intrigue the seriously math minded, I found the book intriguing nonetheless as one who is "math challenged". I really liked how transparent the author was regarding his own faith journey. I respect his expertise and really admire how much of his heart shows through the whole book!

Spiritual Applications

This book is a comfortable read. The author has combined a lifelong interest in Christianity with a lifelong vocation of searching for mathematical applications. From the probability of biblical prophecy to the Christian Evangelizing of the world the reader can either get involved in the mathematics or gloss over the details with profit. And if you are really interested there are a lot of bible prophecies that are not explored. You won't find many books like this one.
