The Younger & Wiser Bride

Kelly Bare is often hilarious. She writes with a wry, self-conscious humor that helps you relax and enjoy the process. You may need to be young --- or young at heart --- to "get" this book. If you are, and especially if you're an 18- to 35-year-old bride, you'll probably love reading these pages. You'll laugh out loud. Planning a wedding? File this book under "stress relief." There are some good ideas here --- and some true-life experience --- but mostly this book will help you approach your wedding with a lighter touch, worrying less about the details. Chill already. Kelly's "been there, tried that" and she tells all here. Humorous and light-hearted, this is a bride book and a helpful guidebook. Fun and funny! helpful, satisfying and useful for every fiancee

I love this book! Kelly tells her story in a smart and refreshing way--and doesn't gloss over the details or shy away from the tricky stuff. A lot of books out there tell brides-to-be how to plan for the party, but few (if any) talk about dealing with the inevitable emotional fallout. It's the thinking bride's guide to wedding planning!

It's about time that someone wrote a heartfelt, honest account of her journey to the altar. From that lurking question, "Do I tell my ex?", to in-law drama and wedding compromises, Kelly Bare tells it like it REALLY is. Engagement is fun, but tough-- and this seems to be the only book that really acknowledges that. (I immediately bought it for three brides-to-be.) Subtle, cathartic, and true, this is the perfect read for a stressful time. Best of all, the story ends happily... ergo, yours might too. Phew.
