Environmentalist Summer Shepherd has been kidnapped. An extremist group is taking the credit, but her father thinks she staged it herself to ruin his bid for the U.S. presidency. Only Duncan Ryder, her stepmother's brother, knows Summer is just a pawn in a bigger game being played by her father's wealthy Brazilian backers. For them, the rain forest is something to be sold, not preserved--and Summer may soon have to choose between saving the trees and saving her own skin.
I found that your book the disappearance was one of the best books I ever read in my life. It was sensational and heartthrobbing. I couldnt wait to get to the end and find out what happens to Summers father and the whole tragedy that went on. Jasmine Cresswell, I have to say that you are a greaaaaaat writer and I love you and your work. I have almost all of your books and I cant get enough of them. You are the best. This is my first book by Jasmine Cresswell and I am truly impressed. When Professor Summer Shepherd is kidnapped, the FBI has no choice to negotiate with the kidnappers because she is the daughter of the secretary of state. Why she was kidnapped remains a mystery, along with why the kidnappers decided to send the ransom note to Duncan Ryder, Summer's despised step-mother's brother.Duncan, who has been in love with Summer for years, orchestrates Summer's release and helps convince authorities she didn't plan her own kidnapping. While the two are getting closer, they must also try to solve the mystery as to why Summer was kidnapped and try to release Summer's friend Joe Malone from the kidnappers. All in all a great book. I was truly surprised by the ending! Whew, what a finale!
Gripping suspense and great romance

Definitely a winner! The topic is as timely as the headlines, and this author writes like a dream. Where do writers get this stuff? I was with the characters every second which was a lot better than reality, because I read this book while on a very aggravating plane flight! Prepare for an absorbing pageturner!
Wonderful!

"The Disappearance" is the first book I have read by Jasmine Cresswell. It's a wonderful romantic suspense story. I love books that have me thinking about the characters when I should be doing other things like working, and this book definitely did just that. I'm looking forward to reading another Jamsmine Cresswell book soon.
Jasmine Cresswell just gets better and better

I've read all of Ms. Cresswell's suspense novels and look forward to each new one. She combines well-drawn characters, humor, plot twists and heartpounding excitement into one seamless whole. Summer and Duncan are one of her best "teams" and the rain forest problem mixed with Washington politics makes for a terrific story.
