Jake is a very difficult little boy who hates doing anyone a favour. So he's none too happy when his mother wants him to vacuum the house. But then he has an idea which turns a boring chore into hours... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I respectfully disagree with other reviewers who were concerned about this book setting the wrong example. When my son was about four or five (he's 21 now), this was one of his favorite books and the one I enjoyed reading to him the most. He understood that this book was a jest, a story about an little boy who gets torked at his family and vacuums them up, along with much of their house. At the end of the story, everybody gets out of the vacuum unharmed. Sometimes kids enjoy fantasizing about getting the best of authority figures (just as adults do). I'm so glad that this book is back in print. We gave away my son's copy to relatives, and I'd love to have a copy again.
