Last volume in the series of Bennett's Island novels rejoins Joanna Bennett Sorensen's family during the Vietnam era. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Elisabeth Ogilvie is a wonderful author and should in my opinion have a revival. She brings life to her characters and puts you in a birds' eye seat for the ride. She makes you care what happens to these characters and lets you see most of them again in succeeding books. I love the Bennets' Island characters and I know that Island is out there and I can't wait to visit even if it is only in the next book I read. I wish there were many more stories out there in this series waiting for me to find them but I guess theere isn't since the author is dead. So sad to all her readers and the characters she brought to life in her stories. Sweet return to Bennett's Island

It's Vietnam era, but the time period is only incidental in this slow and lazy trip to the Island. Joanna and Nils are almost on their own, until long-lost cousin Hal joins them. He's all Bennett, and the reader loves him from the start, but is he all that he seems? Ogilvie devotees get a chance to catch up on all the Bennetts in this latest episode. It's an excellent read.
