The Dancing Savior", by David Hunter, is a novel about the thin line between madness and sanity. Readers are plunged headfirst into a world where the bizarre is the daily norm. Hunter's story of one cop's journey to redemption is both moving and haunting", said Steven Womack, Edgar-winning author of Chain of Fools."
While there is nothing new under the sun, David Hunter has managed to write a book that was different from anything I have ever read. He obviously called on his own experiences as a cop, and it makes you wonder how much of himself is revealed in the book's main character, police detective David Sage. Set in an East Tennessee mental facility, the characters are so interesting and well developed that a book could be written about each of them. I look forward to Mr. Hunter's next novel.
Refreshingly different

David Hunter's The Dancing Savior is one of the most refreshing novels featuring a cop that I've read in a very long while. A traditional whodunit -- or maybe howdunit -- serves as a backdrop to the whole story, but the most intriguing mystery centers on the main character himself, a police detective named David Sage. Sage has survived more than his share of tense encounters with bad guys, but in Dancing Savior the worst of the demons he has to grapple with come from within himself. His battleground is a psychiatric ward in a Tennessee hospital, where he's trying to resolve his own problems and keep the peace in a place where the personalities of other ward patients often turn ugly.It would spoil the story if I told you how he gets a grip, but I will say that if you're tired of the same old cop-versus-killer story, this is the book for you. It's especially compelling if you're as keen on character as you are on plot.Hunter delivers all around, and you won't regret the time you invest in this story.
