This is the second release of "The Chemy Called Al," which is a sequel to "A Gebra Named Al." Having read both editions, I have to say this version is exactly what it's advertised to be: an improved version of an old favorite. The language has been tweaked, and a few obscure points from the first edition seem to have been clarified. It's an entertaining read whether or not you're interested in learning algebra or science. You can tell it's written for young adults, but I liked it very much. Five stars! :)

I read THE CHEMY CALLED AL and found it very intriguing on many different levels. I found its references to alchemy and to chemistry both accurate and surprisingly allegorical--the protagonist's journey itself is a journey into deep theoretical parts of the universe and the inner self. I purchased the book for my child, but found myself reading it for myself.
