We've Met the Real Cat!

My husband and I stayed at Strawberry Hill in Rockport, Maine, this summer and fell in love with the real Pumpkin, the Cat of Strawberry Hill. I just had to buy a copy of the book for my grand children. I am Library Director of Cape Porpoise Library in Maine, and I also purchased a copy for the children's section of the library. We have digital photos of pumpkin, and she looks exactly like the star of her book.

A highly recommended children's picturebook based upon a real cat and a true story

Her eyes are "the color of the sea" and her fur is "the brown of the earth in the potato fields of Arroostook county and the white of the snow on Mount Katahdin". Pumpkin reigns supreme as the inn cat at The Strawberry Hill Seaside Inn in Rockport, Maine. Separated from her owners at a roadside rest stop, Pumpkin becomes lost and but is finally rescued after enduring several alarming challenges.
