Our dog, clue, is supposed to be a circus clow, but somebody wants to stop her. Is it Flip the Clown, who doesn't want another clown in the show? Or Galloping Gracie, who is mad at Clue for ripping up her favorite costume? Mary-Kate and I have to find out -- or Clue could be in real trouble!
Mary Kate and Ashely Olsen have struck another blow for all girls with this inspiring tale of intrigue and mystery set it in the most derelict of imperialist institutions, the circus.. Not content to leave sleuthing to the hardy boys or the misogynist Sherlock Holmes, Mary Kate and Ashely exemplify the finest in juvenile postmodern feminist critique in an ingeniously disguised caper. Allowing for all sorts of metanarrative sequences to go unchecked it is precisely this unadorned pre-teen banter that allows for uninterrupted allegories between their various escapades and their burgeoning feminitity in a traditionally male dominated discourse, the mystery tale. One almost wonders what these two spunky twins could achieve in a predominately matriarchal system based on the give and take of human relationships instead of our needs-based patriarchal subversion. Kudos to the twins and kudos to their thinly veiled diatribe against oppressive systems based on capital and stature!
