Tate, a stay-at-home mom, is burned out. Can she recover her lost self and regain her passion for life before she goes completely insane? With the help of a good therapist, an insightful friend, and her unfailing sense of humor, she finds balance and authenticity in her role as a modern mom. Funny, inspirational, and thought provoking, this novel embraces the core of motherhood today as it takes readers along on Tate's journey of self-rediscovery and healing. Every mom will recognize the challenges of tackling the larger issues of life while keeping up with the exhausting day-to-day routine and will appreciate seeing that, with help, anyone can find inward and outward balance.??
Taylor Wilshire hones in on the real challenges we face in life. The Book of Mom is insightful, witty and a great resource for both moms and dads. I'm sure most women would like their husband's to read this book to help them "get it." It is a reminder that being "present" is one of the most important things we can do for our children, and at times one of the hardest. Reading this book has inspired me and truly validates the awesome journey of being a mom!

As a stay-at-mom of two boys, I immediately identified with Tate, the main character. I found her voice open and refreshing, like having a smart and funny best friend who really understands the ups and downs of being a daughter, mother, wife and friend all at once all the time. I really liked how the author showed us a beautiful balance between trusting our spiritual side and seeking professional help we need it to get through the trials and tribulations of growing in all of our roles as women. Thank you, Taylor Wilshire, for an inspiring read!

I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read that will make them laugh AND think. Despite the title, the book's not just for moms; it's about everything: life and death, messy houses and dirty diapers, love, friendship, anger, gratitude,...The usual life stuff. That said, it's probably also good for parents to give to their daughters who have romanticized the idea of having a kid!
A Must-Read for All Moms

As a mother of three, I thoroughly enjoyed The Book of Mom. It made me laugh out loud as I read the all too familiar scenarios and emotions experienced by Tate, a busy and mentally exhausted mother. Taylor Wilshire has an uncanny ability to bring her characters to life, exploring genuine issues and emotions while inspiring readers to reevaluate their own life challenges. If you're looking for an inspirational peek into the life of a mother, best-friend and wife, this novel is for you. It's well-written and entertaining - a perfect beach read!
Taylor Wilshire hits it again!

I've been a fan of Taylor's since reading her first book--"The What-If-Guy" (if you want more information about how to find your soul mate--check it out!), so I was excited to read her new book: "The Book of Mom." And I was not disappointed! In fact "The Book of Mom" took Taylor's amazing ability to blend fiction, great characters, interesting plot, along with wonderful insights into how to be more present to a spiritual way of being--to a whole new level. I'm not a mom, but I greatly appreciated Taylor's story-telling. Here are character's that speak to the human condition: Being a mom, having children, enduring a life-alternating illness, being a good friend, sustaining a marriage or long-term relationship--through thick and thin. All deep meaning aside--this is a riveting good story! Read this book!
