reads like a chat with a close friend

I have recommended this book to friends and pastors. It really helped me to "see" with my mind and heart just what it is that is expected of me as a person in this crazy messed up world. I felt like I was walking and talking to the Garden-Maker myself as if walking and talking with a very close friend who cares alot about me. It's a must for everyone. Can't wait to get the next books. Keep them coming!

After reading this I understood what God wanted from me!

One of the best books I have ever read.It helped me to understand Genesis and Job even more.It's a keeper! From beginning to end I understood more than I thought possible and THIS book with the Bible made the beginning much clearer for me.I found out that Steve Stevens has another book "The Book of Leaders" coming out in August of 1999. I will be thrilled to get it! Steve Stevens has another fan. Thank you Mr. Stevens

Wonderful Bible storytelling!

From beginning to end, this book is a wonderful and imaginative retelling of Genesis and Job. I was drawn in immediately; the author's refreshing storytelling style gave me a fresh look at very familiar Bible stories and beloved biblical characters, but retained the accuracy of the Bible. I loved the one-line spiritual truths such as "Truth is usually one step beyond one's vision and two steps beyond one's comfort," that accompany the artwork (also very nice!) at the beginning of each chapter. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to read about biblical characters...this is an inspiring, creative Bible storybook for adults and reads like a novel. I look forward to "The Book of Leaders" and the other two in the series!
