"The Behavioral Health Journal Series: The Next Step in Smoking Cessation" is a faith-based, self-monitoring tool for your recovery. When individuals are aware of how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact, they will then be able to make life-altering and wise lifestyle choices. Emotions, thoughts, and behaviors all influence one another. Awareness precedes change. In this tobacco cessation journal, you will explore the impact of your thoughts on everyday emotional being which may lead to unhealthy lifestyle choices. For instance, when individuals experience distress due to life challenges, some smoke tobacco to cope with these difficult times. In your daily journaling, you will be exploring potential antecedents or triggers that may encourage you to smoke tobacco, 'unhealthy' or 'unrealistic thoughts that may lead you to the next cigarette, and potentially challenging circumstances and/or emotional distress that may lead to relapse. When exploring your thoughts, you will have a Bible verse to encourage you to meditate in His Word daily. You can replace any intrusive thought(s) with God's Truth. Over time, you will learn a distinct trend or pattern than may interfere with the progress of your tobacco cessation plan. You will then be able to discontinue the pattern and replace it with adaptive thoughts and emotions. You may have a tight schedule and/or time constraint in juggling life at work, home and in your local community. If you don't take time for self-care, you will eventually be exhausted or burn-out. Furthermore, fatigue or exhaustion may lead to additional stress in the day and can be a potent trigger to relapse. In the mornings, you will be encouraged to schedule at least 20 minutes of physical activity during the day to decrease the impact of daily stress. You will also be asked to identify at least (1) self-care and/or relaxing activity for that day. At the end of the end, you will be encouraged to count all your blessings and pray over any concern(s) or challenge(s) you are currently having. You will have an opportunity to ask the Lord to help you with day-to-day stressors and overall well-being. FEATURES: Portable size (6X9 in.), 213 pages. Paperback cover: Matte.
