This description is based on the MIT professor's writings on linguistics in the 1950s; but beginning with his criticism of the Vietnam War in the 1960s, Chomsky became much better known for his radical politics than for his theories of language. Over the past forty years he has gained a devoted following in the United States and Europe for his increasingly bitter--some say hysterical--censure of U.S. "crimes." Chomsky has complained about being ignored by mainstream publications such as the "New York Times," but in fact his steady stream of polemical works, like the best-selling "9-11," have made him the center of a veritable cult. In "The Anti-Chomsky Reader," editors Peter Collier and David Horowitz have assembled a set of essays that analyze Chomsky's intellectual career and the evolution of his anti-Americanism. The essays in this provocative book focus on subjects such as Chomsky's bizarre involvement with Holocaust revisionism, his apologies for Khmer Rouge tyrant Pol Pot, and his claim that America's policies in Latin America in the 1980s were comparable to Nazism. Scholar Paul Bogdanor writes about Chomsky's hatred of Israel. Ronald Radosh and David Horowitz discuss his gloating reaction to the September 11 attack. Linguists Paul Postal and Robert Levine reevaluate Chomsky's linguistics and find the same qualities there that others see in his politics: "a deep contempt for the truth, descents into incoherence, and verbal abuse of those who disagree with him." "The Anti-Chomsky Reader" presents a fascinating composite portrait of a man who arguably is our most influential public intellectual.
Although the irrefutably powerful truth that this book conveys about Noam Chomsky's irrationality, dishonesty, immorality and intellectual corruption -- and his consequential hatred of America -- will not convince his acolytes and apologists, it should convince anyone with even a reasonably open mind. The authors have written what amounts to a legal brief proving that Chomsky has no credibility whatever, and that nothing he says can be taken as true unless it is supported by unimpeachable documentation. It's About Time somebody took on chomsky

I wish every reader of Chomsky would go out and read this book. Unfortunately, most won't. The Anti-Chomsky Reader illustrates Chomsky's hatred towards Israel, and how he got into bed with a holocaust denier and his cadre of jew-haters. Chomsky not only hates Israel - he hates America too, and believes that the US had it coming in 9/11. I only with the book had been bigger..and that they could have covered Chomsky inability to protest the lack of free speech on campuses. Silly me - the only speech allowed on campus is leftish hogwash...no wonder he is not protesting.
Taking a Bite out of Chomsky

This book is a marvelous expose' of a radical left-wing sacred cow, Professor Noam Chomsky, who somehow managed to leverage early academic success in the field of linguistics into a lifelong career as socialist left-wing gadfly. Unfortunately, in his academic pursuits, Professor Chomsky somehow apparently failed to assimilate a basic ethical principle that most people find entirely uncontroversial -- namely, that one should tell the truth and avoid intentional deception. As this volume establishes beyond any shadow of doubt, Professor Chomsky is a mendacious writer who abuses the trappings of academic scholarship to peddle a peculiar political world-view holding that U.S. power is the greatest evil in the world. This book is a welcome addition to the growing literature which debunks the paranoid musings of the famous linguist.
Crucial reading for anyone interested in political honesty

I find it very interesting and intensely revealing how hard chomsky's clones are working to divert attention from what is presented in this book. Anyone that follows any figure's rhetoric without being critical or examining other points of view will continue to fail in their pursuit of justice. Just the sheer spam flood of one star ratings calling this book "hate mongering" should be reason to realize the perspective and research in this book is DANGEROUS TO THOSE CHOMSKY HAS BRAINWASHED. Hopefully over time this book will help others as it has helped me, to understand why Chomsky and his clones (via RageAgainstTheMachine, Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, Pearl Jam, etc) cannot be taken seriously. Over time the people quoting chomsky will slowy start to pretend to have never taken him seriously as it will be an embarrassment to history. Please buy this book for those you love.
Devastating critique...

This book is absolutely devastating. It proves beyond a doubt that Chomsky is a systematic liar who deliberately ignores massive amounts of source material that contradicts what he wants to say, refuses to have his works peer-reviewed, and cites non-existent "sources." What is most astonishing, as most thorough readers of Chomsky have already noticed, is that a vast amount of his "sources" are actually his own works! If you're lucky, he'll give a page number when he cites his works, and when you look at that previous work, it is even more astonishing when you realize that the "source" simply cites himself again! Many a reader will quickly discover that those very footnotes lead absolutely nowhere, and no real source is to be found. It is, by any objective qualification, a form of quibbling. An even better example is his new book "Hegemony or Survival." In it, he cites many sources, and he has also discovered a new way of citing himself without it being so noticable in footnote format. About 1/3 of the quotations that he uses are uncited. When you do a simple search, you will find that many of those uncited quotations are actually his own, and they are inserted in the paragraphs in such a manner so as to give the paragraph an entirely different context than would exist without them. As a political scientist, by degree, I can safely state that if ANY student at any university or college in the United States did half the things Chomsky does, they would be either kicked out or flunked out. However, since Chomsky says things that a large percentage of the academic population wants to hear, all of these errors are willingly ignored, and he is allowed to go on lying through his teeth. It's absolutely disgusting. Buy this book. Read this book. Tell your friends about this book. Buy them copies for their birthdays. Cite this book in your essays. Get the word out. This anti-American, and anti-Israeli, demagogue must be stopped.
