Having escaped the Russian Invasion of 1979 and persecution in Iran, an Afghan Family come to Britain to join the Afghan Diaspora and marry to remain as residents. Their new found life however, does not leave behind their roots and traditions that they held at home in Helmand province. Male dominated society in Afghanistan is overtaken in Britain by two dominant females who have acquiesced to marriage, allowing their husbands to become UK citizens. They become forceful in their own right and overshadow their husbands by adopting traditional Afghan cultures in which they were not brought up.
