A carefully chosen selection of editorials from Tozer's time as editor of what is now the Alliance Life, with the common theme of recognizing God for who he is and giving him the honour and worship... This description may be from another edition of this product.
One of my top five books. Tozer's ability to weave an eloquent tapistry merging the warp of living in this world with the weave of being a citizen of another makes this a classic text. This simple book is inspiring, challanging, heart-warming and deeply convicting. Every follower of Christ must read this book.
Another Great One By Tozer!

The main theme of this little gem is the distinctiveness of the Christian life. Among the important points covered by Tozer include: 1. The victorious Christian must live contrary to the ways of the world. 2. There is a close relation between humility and the perception of truth. 3. Be careful of religious extremism. 4. Some of God's greatest blessings will not come to us. Instead, we must go after them! 5. We can expect greater difficulties as we mature in Christ. 6. 5 necessary things needed to receive God's gifts. 7. Atonement by self-effort is heresy. 8. Getting proper rest can protect us from spiritual staleness. 9. Beware of telling others only about the benefits of being a Christian. 10. Be sure to cultivate plenty of time for solitude and silence before God. The book consists of around 40 chapters and about 3-5 pages per chapter. While the book is small, do not let the appearance fool you - there are plenty of precious gems in this one to be mined. Read, enjoy, and be challenged like only Tozer could! Highly recommended.
Excellent, required reading for every Christian!

Like all of Tozer's books, superlatives are in order here. It is simply well-written and challenging. This book consists of 41 short (3 page) essays taken from Alliance Witness editorials. If you like Tozer, you will like it.
Great reading with a message you can't escape.

Many of Tozer's books are broken up into many, many short chapters on a variety of subjects important to the faith. This approach makes it an easier read....but this book is still power-packed. I especially like the opening chapter, "That Incredible Christian". It is a delightful essay on the pardoxical nature of living one's life in Christ.
