He was Woodward Maurice Ritter, but known to almost everyone as Tex. One of the most popular of the singing cowboys, Tex Ritter began singing on radio in the 1920's, added movies to his resume in the 1930's, comics and television in the 1950s. He was the most musically successful of the singing cowboys, and was ultimately inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. His comic book spanned the 1950s, and inspired not only future cowboys but also many country-western singers.The comic reprints from Golden Age Reprints and UP History and Hobby are reproduced from actual classic comics, and sometimes reflect the imperfection of books that are decades old.
