The sanguine person has a God-given ability to live in the present. 2. He can enter into the feelings and thoughts of others. 3. The sanguine person is tender and sympathetic. 4. The sanguine person has the potentialities for living an abundant life. B. Weaknesses of the Sanguine Temperament: 1. The person of sanguine temperament is likely to be inconstant and superficial. 2. He is unreliable. C. The Self-Discipline of the Sanguine: ? II. THE MELANCHOLIC TEMPERAMENT: A. Strengths of the Melancholic Temperament: 1. The melancholic individual has a rich, sensitive nature. 2. He is deep and thorough in everything. 3. He has the gift of knowing his own limitations. 4. He is faithful. 5. He is dependable. B. THE CHOLERIC TEMPERAMENT: A. Strengths of the Choleric Temperament: 1. The choleric individual has strong will power. No other type has such strong natural qualifications for building a fine, firm character. 2. He is practical. 3. He has a keen mind. 4. He is quick and bold in emergencies. 5. Adversities do not dismay him. B. Weaknesses of the Choleric Temperament: 1. The choleric person is hard. 2. He is impetuous and violent. 3. He is too self-confident. 4. He is haughty and domineering. 5. He is likely to be crafty. 6. He is revengeful. 7. He is dangerous as a criminal. 8. On the whole, he has a prosaic rather than poetic nature. C. The Self-Discipline of the Choleric:" With earnest, conscious effort he must find the means to subdue his violent temper. There is no more certain remedy than forcing himself to apologize every time that temper of his runs away with him. To apologize is more humiliating to the choleric than to anyone else. But for just this reason it is an effective means of holding his fiery, reckless nature in check." IV. THE PHLEGMATIC TEMPERAMENT: A. Strengths of the Phlegmatic Temperament: 1.
