You want your kids to become intimate with God's Word. But too often, it seems like an exercise in boredom. Thankfully, veteran youth ministers Bill McNabb and Steven Mabry have come to the rescue... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Any youth teacher should have this book in their possession at all times when teaching young people the Bible. Young people learn best on their feet, not on their seats! No one likes being lectured to, and this book will show you how to let the young people teach themselves as they learn Gods' word.

There are a ton of ideas. Many topics. Easy to adapt to different groups. I work with a combo 4th and 5th grade class (prayers greatfully accepted!). The activities are sometimes for older, less tween and more teen, groups.
Best teenage source book we use

We teach a group of teenagers, 7-9th grade plus some older, in a weekly class approaching Confirmation and also after Confirmation. While we, ourselves, teach in an Episcopal setting, this book is appropriate for any demonination. This book is without a doubt the best teaching resource book we have used. It focuses on how you teach rather than providing week by week lesson plans. Lots of ideas. The Quiz section is a fun challenge for students of any age. We recently tried it on our parents as well! Do not miss this book!
Pass it around to all the teachers

"Teaching the Bible Creatively" is an excellent tool for teachers (and I mean all Christian Education teachers and not just youth teachers, who are the main target of the publisher). I personally make it available to all my teachers because of its simple ideas that consistently make teachers better. The ideas aren't anything ground breaking but they do show how simple changes can get a teacher excited about teaching and when that happens you will have a class that is excited about learning. There are at least 50 practical programs spread through the book, but I believe its greatest assest is the fact that this book stresses why it is so important for teachers to be creative. The book also makes practical suggestions on how teachers can make themselves more creative (such as, always carry a notepad around and write down any idea you have, etc.) If you want some inspiration and a few good ideas read this book.
