This is a charming compendium of stories relating to the Grand Canyon, some factual, some fanciful. The author has gathered tales from a wide variety of sources. Tales from the Grand Canyon provides a lighthearted and straightforward literary consideration of the power and mystery of the canyon. Edna Evans has been an Arizona resident since 1948 and was an English professor at Phoenix College until her retirement in 1978. She has published six books, both fiction and nonfiction, the most recent of which is an alternate state history text used in Arizona school systems. Evans has also published articles in Arizona Highways, Western Horseman, and Arizona Days and Way. She is an active participant in the Heard Museum Guild, and as docent for the Arizona Game and Fish Department, she presents educational programs to students throughout the state. --- from book's back cover
