This book for learning the Valencian language is the last book in our new series (with exercises), Taking the First Steps in the Romance Languages . The same series contains a book for learning Catalan which belongs to the same group of dialects as Valencian and Mallorquí whose three language dialects are spoken in the Catalonian, Valencian and Majorcan regions of Spain. Please note that my previous books on learning Catalan and Valencian did not contain exercises, so we hope that learners will find this new series helpful in that regard. The same series also contains books for learning French, Italian and Portuguese. For those interested in learning Spanish, there is a separate series called "Taking the First Steps in Spanish". This book is specifically for learning the Valencian language (or dialect). Dave Luton has lived in the Valencian Community of Spain since 2008 and Nuria Gomar has lived there all her life. This book contains phrases useful in daily life, important vocabulary, basic grammar and written and/or multiple choice exercises at the end of each step. It does not contains pictures, images, tourist information, videos or sound files.
