Jump in - the water's fine!

As an 8-year full-time RVers, my husband and I ve never regretted our choice. Stephanie's book contains knowledge we've had to learn by hard knocks. There's good information about membership camping, choosing your rig, residency, budgeting, to name just a few topics. Stephanie maintains Rvhometown site to update information in her book. Definitely a book worth buying if you ever thought of just taking off - for a year or the rest of your life! Maybe we'll see you down the road. Jaimie

A superbly written and presented examination of RV travel.

Stephanie Bernhagen's Take Back Your Life!: Travel Full-Time In An RV offers the reader a superbly written and presented examination of what it's like to buy a recreational vehicle (RV), and go abroad on the highways and byways the America. Berhhagen was 36 when she and her husband "hit the road" in an RV in 1994. "Must" reading for anyone dreaming of their own RV oriented post-retirement plans, Take Back Your Life! is a compendium of what she has learned, seen, experienced, and thought about as the result of becoming a highway adventurer.

Take Back Your Life! Travel Full-Time In An RV

Great book for anyone considering living full-time in an RV. I'm reading it for the third time & find something new each time. I'll definitely keep it for future reference. It will be one of the books we take with us when we take back our life & go full-timing...if I don't wear it out first. Stephanie has done a great job making a lot of technical information easy to read. She has a lot more information at her website where you can read the first chapter of the book and any updates to the information in the book. Thanks Stephanie!

An RVing Guide For All Ages

You're probably tired of your job or maybe you'd like to spend more time with your family. Perhaps you've seen others hit the road and wonder how they are able to make things work. You may have even looked at a few rigs at a dealer's lot. Then "It" happens. You get the worst possible attack of This-Can't-Possibly-Work. Then a cascade of reasons arrive: * I can't leave my: (a) job; (b) friends; or (c) children's school. * I can't do this because I'm: (a) single/divorced/widowed; (b) disabled; or (c) on a budget.Trust me. After full-timing over 200,000 miles by RV (and loving it), you can too. The great thing is that Stephanie now offers a book for all of us which is loaded with information which would otherwise take years to discover "the hard way." I know. I've been there. But Stephanie has made full-timing easy. Inside the book you'll find worksheets, checklists, questions, and a healthy dose of resources. You can start her book at the beginning or pick chapters that you need most as you need them. But, don't miss the stories that she has gathered from interviews with others "living the dream." It's one long neighborhood chat which you won't want to miss.

If you've ever remotely considered chucking it all...

...then you need to read this book. Full-time RVing is not just for retirees. Stephanie presents many real-life examples of people (singles & couples other than themselves) who are living as many only dream. You'll learn the ins and outs of RVing, what choices need to be made and how to make them, how to make money while traveling, how to handle communication issues, how to find a home base, how to travel with pets, homeschooling children and so much more. But she doesn't stop there. She includes worksheet samples designed to help you make the best decision for you. AND she includes a comprehensive resource listing including hundreds of Internet sites designed with the RVer in mind. So if you're ever remotely considered chucking it all, no matter your age or marital status, this is the one book you *have* to read. UPDATE: Six years later I found myself reading this book again as I contemplated full-time RVing as a solo woman. I found it still had a wealth of great information and really helped me solidify my RVing plans.
