In this off-the-beaten-sidewalk debut, native New Yorker Daphne Uviller reveals the secrets of a sexy, story-filled Big Apple, where a mystery lurks behind every apartment door--and a savvy but... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book is way more than your usual chicklit. It is funny, entertaining and thought provoking. The main character, intelligent and well educated represents a large number of young adults who haven't quite found their way as yet. Parents of 20 somethings take note. You will enjoy this book too. I loved the lofty musings of glory and fame that Zephyr, Uviller's main character is frequently fantasizing and the unexpected twists and turns.
Fun read

I've read my fair share of chick lit but nothing like this before. The writing is sharp and lively. This is a fun read that will keep you entertained from the first page to the last.
Laugh out loud

"Super in the City" is an utterly delightful romp of a book. Smart and hilarious, fast-paced and impossible to put down once you pick it up. Ms. Uviller seems to effortlessly maximize the humorous potential of every sentence, every situation, every fantasy. The characters are vivid and loveable, the mystery is compelling, the thoughts are original. I loved it! Unfortunately, I also stayed up until 3 AM to finish it...
Move over, Bridget Jones!

Half way through this book, as I read it on an elevator on my way to an appointment, a stranger actually said, as the doors parted: "what is that you're reading that makes you laugh so much?" Now that doesn't happen every day. But Super in the City is just the kind of laugh out loud story which will leave you with a bit of grief when it finally ends. The self-obsessed but never dull Zephyr was a ton of fun to follow around for a few hundred pages. And I'll never look at the floor of my closet the same way again.
What a great read!

Daphne Uviller's book, Super in the City, is fantastic! It's a very fun read that I could not put down. The characters seem very real (especially the main character and her four very believable best friends) and the dialogue rings true. It's funny and wise and has an exciting mystery at its core to boot! I very highly recommend this book!
