In this third Suddenly Supernatural book, spirit-seeing Kat has pretty much overcome her fear of communicating with ghosts. But when she and best friend Jac visit the Whispering Pines Mountain House and Kat is challenged to help a deceased medium make her way back into the light, things get a little darker. From battling off dark spirits to fighting with Jac, Kat's week-long stay at the haunted mountain house is anything but relaxing. The question is what will be scarier: facing off with a misguided spirit or with her best friend, whose mother happens to be their chaperone?
Volume three of the series does start off a little slow as the beginning focus on Jac and the music convention. Then it really picks with with Kat being attack by a strange black cloud that makes me think of the darkness from the Twitches stories and a very confused ghost of another medium. With Jac busy with a possible new boyfriend and Jac's mom affected by the dark cloud, Kat is on her own facing her greatest and most deadly challenge yet that could cost her life. Especially with the power loss cutting her off from calling her mom for help. She also on her own have to help a ghost cross over to the other side and deal with a bunch of paranormal skeptics at Pine Mountain House.

Our favorite of the three we've read so far. My girls found this entry less scary that the last but equally entertaining. There were some good messages about friendship, first impressions and realizing that being independent doesn't mean you can't ask for help. Lovely.
Can't wait for the 4th book in the series!!

We love this series! The first book was funny, the second a little scary, and this third one was had a very scary part! It was great! The relationship between the two friends and their interest in boys is fun to read and relate to. Many good lessons can be learned in these books. Friendship, loyalty, and trust just to mention a few. The author uses humor and current trends, so parents will love reading along, too.
