A careful mix of law, policy, ethics, and economics, Studies in American Tort Law is designed for first-year torts courses. Recognizing that torts is a prime battleground for social policy, this book seeks to reflect not only the current rules on injury compensation, but also the policy choices underlying those rules. Like the format

Much more readable than the case book I used for my Torts 1 class. The explanations and notes are easier to follow and better written.

Casebook

What can I say- this is a regular 1st year law school case book. I would recommend that if you buy this, you should also buy "Mastering Torts" by the same author as it explains things in summary and in layman's terms.
