This book is very useful if all you want is problems to practice before an exam. Apart from the usual dumbing down philosophy ("...typically many students find solid mechanics a difficult subject... and so goes the preface), the book has some nice set of problems, some of them being answers to questions in standard textbooks for the subject of strength of materials. I found a couple of problems from Crandall, Dahl and Lardner's textbook solved here. Nice addition, but has limited value once that final is over.
