Both inspirational and practical, "Stone Age Wisdom" includes exercises and meditations for achieving balance; tips for moving through change rather than fighting it; and simple ceremonies and rituals... This description may be from another edition of this product.
It's no easy feat presenting "woowoo" concepts like shapeshifting, vision walking, stone-reading, and shamanic journeying in a way such that a healthy skeptic can't help but respond with: "Ahhh...hmmm...oh, yes...that makes sense..." and yet Tom Crockett has done just that with this intelligent, warmly humorous guide to the origins and core concepts of traditional shamanism which also introduces the author's own shamanic system brought back from one of his journeys. Crockett's system is magically concrete and concretely magic in its symmetry, logic, and relevance to the 3-D world, taking readers on a believable journey of discovery, one that allows us not just to shift the way we look at the world around us, but also introduces us to an inner world where insight dwells, accessible to any who would but shift their vision just a little in order to "see" the unseen with heightened awareness. This book is a perfect complement to a holistic, Earth-aware, service-oriented life....

A Gem of a Book

I also am a student and serious shamanic practitioner and voracious reader of all books shamanic. This book has deepened my own shamanic practice in ways that other teachers and books have not. Along with Tom Cowan's books and Frank MacEowen's, this volume now has a place of honor on my shelves and in my heart. If you are a serious student of shamanism, this book is well worth purchasing. Even if you are not a practitioner, it's one of the finer books I've come across which plainly explains what shamanism is and is not, why it is important to learn and continue the practice, and how it fits into a modern urban society. If you are merely curious about shamanism or are a seasoned journeyer, this book is a wonderful resource.
One of the best shamanic books ever

I own and have read almost every book published on shamanism. Mr. Crockett does a great job of explaining the basics and elaborates on more advanced concepts in a way that to date, no other author has achieved. He writes clearly and enfolds the reader in the experiential nature of shamanism, making the material real and memorable.
