As the volume editor of this book, I would like to point out that the age category of 9 - 12 is wrong. This book is intended for college and high school students who are researching the author Stephen Crane. It contains essays and other writings from literary magazines, newspapers, etc., that helped to establish Crane's reputation during his lifetime and shortly thereafter. Since some of these writings are difficult to obtain in their original publication, this volume allows the student easy access to the most important early writings about Stephen Crane, the author and the man. The system would not allow this review to be posted without a rating, so I, of course, give it five stars!!!
