This book made a non-reader read

I'm writing this review on behalf of my 13 year old daughter, she doesn't like reading but after getting punished during summer was looking for a few good books as entertainment. She found that and more in Nikki Carters "Step To This" from the So For Real Series. She was laughing and talking to me constantly about the characters. She finished this book in 1 1/2 day. She talked about them so much my niece wanted to know what she was talking about, we ended up giving her the first two books as well. It is also comforting as a parent to know that my child is getting age appropiate entertainment with a message.

This book was really good its showed reality and the truth that happens in life. I like this book because it shows that you don't change for a person because they're really not your friend if they dont like you for you. I think the author did a good job on this book. It makes me wanna read the next book to see whats gonna happen in this series. I started reading the book on Saturday and finished in just two days. It was that good. I'm really not a fan of books so that says a lot about this book for me reading 219 pages in two days. This author did a great job and can't wait to read the next. GREAT JOB! NIKKI CARTER "TWO THUMBS UP"

The Business

Gia Stokes is in her second year of high school and is already looking forward to the possibilities the year will bring. She's set her sights on being apart of the Hi-Steppers, a dance squad. While she definitely has all of the right moves, Gia's exclusive style may be a little too different for the A squad. While riding the bench, Gia gives in to a make over with the hopes of finally fitting in. Packed away is her uniqueness and soon she becomes a different person. A clone, she's betrayed her best friend, lied to her mom and is catty with her cousin/best friend. It's not long before she learns that while she may have made some minor adjustments everyone isn't who they appear to be. Is Gia ready for change? Step To This is a fun, fast read by Nikki Carter. Carter has written a story about a remarkable young lady who is faced with choices. I love that the character is an average teen who marches to her own beat and has issues, yet doesn't mind sticking up for herself. I also enjoy that the book is a Christian teen book that is not preachy and adds to the story providing readers with authentic characters and situations. Step To This is definitely a paperback worthy of a recommendation for all. Reviewed by Nardsbaby for Urban Reviews

Da Bomb

Okay - so I'm showing my age. Teens don't say "da bomb" anymore. Sure didn't see it in the book, but what I did see deserves 5 stars for sure. Nikki Carter offers a great read for teens. I don't read YA fiction often, but I couldn't put this book down. Great characterization, strong story and some great life lessons. Don't hesitate to get this for your teens.
