Laugh out loud funny

This book was suggested and I decided to give it a shot. I really enjoyed it and found myself laughing often. The characters have dimensions. The relationships are believable. Excellent descriptions and world building. Descriptions like smells like "Avon products and cigarettes" really give a specific vision to the reader. I really enjoyed this book. Only complaint, it read more like Southern snooping than murder mystery. There wasn't a lot of tension and I never felt like Deuce's life and extension of him were in any grave danger. Since this was the first book I've read from the author, hopefully I'll find more "suspense" in the rest of the series. Either way, I will definitely be picking up the rest of the series even if there isn't the suspense typically found in murder mysteries. Highly recommend.
